22-year-old Busola Oluchi Gabrielle Akerele, with her stage name Sola, stands as a beacon among singer-songwriters. Hailing from Ondo state, raised in Lagos and then the United States, her vocal artistic expressions carries a tale from several seas. Fearless on stage from a young age, she consistently led in school plays and cultural dances. Now drawing inspirations from her multicultural background, she is performing on stages she dreamt of, growing everyday and meeting new people. Sola's music features a distinctive sound, delivering a commandment to respond in life with love and empower our youth with unfiltered truth, and most especially great energy.
A little over a decade ago, Sola and her family ventured into a new chapter, Indiana as her home.
To which she earned her degrees May 2024, in Computer Information Technology and Entrepreneurship Innovation from Purdue University, collaborating and becoming a vibrant and influential figure in the community.
Embodying the Spirit of Leader, she delves into the realm of music, Sola is on a personal journey to become a timeless artist and contribute soul-enriching classics to her generation.
On January 2024, Sola released her debut single HUSTLE, an Afro RnB track about pure devotion being the way to get to your destination.
The light-hearted track, HUSTLE carries soothing and unprecedented spiritedness on how to face the trials and tribulations that one goes through. Instructing to work hard. There is not a single soul more perfect to sing such a song. With hopes that her story is inspiring to all someday, Sola sings, “Hustle for your dollar, Sola” in January, and this summer she says Trust the Process while you do so, in her melodic tune “Baby, Don’t Worry”.
